A Global Perspective

Students at Rabun Gap have the unique opportunity to interact and form lifelong connections with peers from all walks of life. Our diverse and vibrant campus sets us apart from most independent schools in the United States.

With a population that includes students from 50+ countries and 15 states, Rabun Gap is a special place where people come together. We’re empowering a community that embraces our differences and fosters intellectual discovery.

低年级学生, 中间, and 上学校 gain global perspective through cultural education, both in the classroom and by virtue of being a member of the international community that makes up our vibrant student body. It’s all about preparing our graduates for life outside the idyllic mountain community of Rabun Gap, 他们会去哪里 带路 in college and beyond.


在拉本峡, we cultivate a unique and harmonious environment that encourages students to flourish.  A fourth-grader spends time with his Reading Buddy from the 巴哈马群岛. In an 上学校 history class, 亚洲学生, 欧洲, 加勒比海, and the mountains of Northeast Georgia discuss the American Revolution. 中间 school students have dinner in the dining hall with a faculty member and her family from New York City.

    Rabun Gap is special because of the community and genuine love. I can honestly say that I know people care so much there and want to see students grow and succeed. I also think boarding school brought a special dynamic because friends became sisters and brothers as we were doing life together!

    Because of the diversity at Rabun Gap, I learned how to mingle with others and how important diversity is. I learned how to love others without judging them based on skin color, age or nationality.

    In each section of my class, there are at least five countries represented by students. There are students from near and far in the United States. Among all of them, there is a wide span of political beliefs and personal ideologies. 尽管如此, we are able to delve into highly sensitive topics regarding race, 性别, 暴力, 殖民主义, 爱国主义, 和更多的.
